Born in Havana, she began her ballet training in the Vocational Art School “Luis Casas Romero” in Camagüey (1999) and continued it in the Academy “Vicentina de la Torre” in that city.
In 2007 she joined the National School of Ballet, under the guidance of Ramona de Saá and other outstanding professors. During her school stage she became worthy of important distinctions in competitive events, among them:
First Place category Variations (2005), First Place category pas de deux (2008), in the International Encounters of Academies for the Teaching of Ballet Competitions, that took place in Havana.
In 2008 she was awarded the Special Prize of the jury in the Competition Rome Award, Italy, and the Prize to the Best Couple, in the Competition of Reggio Calabria, also in Italy. The same year she joined the Cuban National Ballet, under Alicia Alonso’s artistic-technical direction, in which she performs a repertoire of classical and contemporary works.
In 2009 she was Guest Artist to the Festival “Women in the Dance”, taken place in Quito, Ecuador. In 2012 she was promoted to First Soloist and in 2015 she was promoted to the category of Principal Dancer. With the Ballet Nacional de Cuba she has performed in countries of Latin America, Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia and Asıa.
She is currently dancing at Houston Ballet, which is one of the top companies in the United States of America.
